Lock Change Cost in Switzerland: Lock or Cylinder?

The cylinder receives the key; the lock mechanism operates the locking action. Depending on the fault and compatibility, replacing the cylinder may be sufficient, but this does not apply to every incident.

A stiff key, misaligned door and broken mechanism may require different work. Ask for a diagnosis and the proposed product reference.

The appropriate response depends on the risk and existing locking system. Dormakaba’s guidance tells tenants to contact property management for additional keys. Check compatibility and permission before modifying a shared system.

For a fire or escape door, ask the professional to preserve the required functions of the complete door assembly.
