How to compare locksmith quotes in Switzerland
Compare two locksmith quotes by giving each professional the same brief, checking the complete proposal and resolving differences before agreeing. A headline price alone does not tell you whether both offers cover the same result.
Send the same brief to each professional
State your municipality, the access problem and whether the work is urgent or planned. Explain whether the door simply closed, was locked with a key or has a damaged mechanism. Mention any shared access system and who can approve work in a rented building.
Ask each company to identify the proposed intervention and anything that still needs an inspection. If you need more than one quote, avoid inadvertently booking several call-outs: distinguish a request for information from an instruction to attend.
The Fédération romande des consommateurs (FRC) advises asking about the price at the first contact. Its archived 2022 guidance also identifies travel and hourly charges as useful information when an exact total cannot yet be given. This is consumer guidance, not a current price list.
